About Beechcraft PU Moulding & Design
Over 50 Years In The Industry
David’s hobby at the time was wood carving and the entrepreneurial duo started to make wood effect samples in PU from silicone moulds cast from David’s carvings.
Their first order was for 500 decorative handles for Wilkinson Sword. Wives Wendy and Vivien became their first two employees and their garage was the workshop. Beechcraft was born!!
As the electronics industry began to boom during the 70s and 80s they adapted the process to manufacture custom low volume enclosures, in the first instance utilising resin tools created from wooden models and then moving onto aluminium cast to form.
Advertising in magazines and attending trade shows and exhibitions the business went from strength to strength and in 1982 the move was made to its 25000 sq./ft factory on the outskirts of Bath.
Mould Tooling advances were made over the next few decades with the introduction of CAD/CAM design tools and as these became developed and widely available this system takes us to the present day with tools machined from solid billet incorporating loose blocks to create undercuts and sections against the line of draw.
Specialising in low volumes with low start up costs with over 50 years’ experience we are the UKs leading supplier of Structural PU mouldings and Enclosures.
