Over 50 Years In The Industry

Beechcraft was established in 1970 by brothers David and Norrie Beech.  David had worked as a buyer for Fords of Bristol and Norrie’s early employment included Marcos Cars producing the GRP Bodies and he moved onto a local furniture company who were developing a process to replicate tricky to make wooden parts with polyurethane.

David’s hobby at the time was wood carving and the entrepreneurial duo started to make wood effect samples in PU from silicone moulds cast from David’s carvings.

Their first order was for 500 decorative handles for Wilkinson Sword.  Wives Wendy and Vivien became their first two employees and their garage was the workshop.  Beechcraft was born!!

As the electronics industry began to boom during the 70’s and 80’s they adapted the process to manufacture custom enclosures, firstly with resin tooling and moving on to aluminium cast to form.

Advertising in magazines and attending exhibitions the business grew and over 50 years later still producing low run enclosures for many sectors including medical, scientific, process control, test and measurement, beauty, point of sale and musical instruments to name a few.
